We are no longer accepting Proposal Submissions, but welcome nominations for the 3rd Artful Integrators’ Award.
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The Artful Integrators’ Award
We welcome nominations for the third Artful Integrators’ Award, to be presented at PDC 2008 in Bloomington, Indiana on 4 October. The Award is intended to recognize outstanding achievement in the area of participatory design of information and communications technologies. Where traditional design awards have gone to individual designers and/or singular objects, the Artful Integrator’s Award emphasizes the importance of collaborative participation in design, and a view of good design as the effective alignment of diverse collections of people, practices and artifacts. The award will go to a group of people who together have worked out, in an exceptionally creative way, a new and useful configuration of artifacts and practices. While no single element of the design might be particularly extraordinary in itself, the combination of design process and outcome will be.
The first Artful Integrators’ Award was presented at PDC 2004 to Randall Trigg and the Global Fund for Women.
The second Artful Integrators’ Award was presented at PDC 2006 to the Health Information Systems Programme (HISP).
We invite you to nominate candidates for the Arftul Integrator’s Award in 2008.
The Artful Integrator Awards Committee members for 2008 are Lucy Suchman, Judith Gregory and Randall Trigg.
Deadline for nominations is 30 June 2008

Enrollment is limited and selection will be based on application submissions. The proposal should give an overview of the Ph.D.- project, including research question, method, how the Ph.D.-work is related to PD, the status of current work, major findings and plans for further research. Accepted applicants will be asked to provide a revised and elaborated proposal a few months before the conference.
Artifacts, posters, products, interactive demonstrations:
